Checking in.
We survived another hurricane storm in Port Charlotte.
The storm winds were pretty high, we lost power at 10:30 pm until 7 am. Luckily we didn't get the expected storm surge in our area.
Had my generator running, kept the fridge & chest freezer running and various lights & chargers. So far, this Honda generator has gotten me through Charley, IDA, Milton and various power outages w/o missing a beat.
Yesterday morning (wednesday) I took the some of the left over aluminum roofing sheets and made shutters for the windows. I didn't have to worry about the windows breaking.
Today (thursday) Worked my tail off taking down the shutters (they came down faster that they went up), picking up lot's of tree limbs and rebuilding a 12' long vinyl privacy fence that blew down. I had extra fence parts I'd saved from when I put it up. Time for some rest !
The new metal roof did good. Just got the internet at 8 pm.
Hope to hear from others that were affected by the storm. Hope your all are doing well.
