Checking in.

We survived another hurricane storm in Port Charlotte.

The storm winds were pretty high, we lost power at 10:30 pm until 7 am. Luckily we didn't get the expected storm surge in our area.

Had my generator running, kept the fridge & chest freezer running and various lights & chargers. So far, this Honda generator has gotten me through Charley, IDA, Milton and various power outages w/o missing a beat.

Yesterday morning (wednesday) I took the some of the left over aluminum roofing sheets and made shutters for the windows. I didn't have to worry about the windows breaking. I did have a small vinyl privacy fence that blew down.

Today (thursday) I was working my tail off rebuilding a fence, taking down shutters, picking up lot's of tree limbs etc..... I need some rest !

The new metal roof did good. Just got the internet at 8 pm.

Hope to hear from others that were affected by the storm. Hope your all are doing well.

Good that you did well.

My Mom lived In Corpus Christi which has had their share of hurricane hits. I labeled each window 'shutter' so they can go back in the same place, next time.

My Niece lives in Sarasota. She evacuated. I am not sure if she suffered any damage.
