Mid America Fieros will host its annual Fiero Cruise on October 2, 2010. Exact details to be announced, but the general schedule will be to meet around 10:00 a.m. in the Paducah, Kentucky area. Plans are to begin the day at a cruise-in in Aurora, Kentucky, have lunch there, head over to another small town festival and possibly enter their parade, then cruise through the Kentucky Lakes area, and then finally ending up at Kentucky Oaks Mall in Paducah around 4:00 p.m. to meet up with Top Gun Car Shows cruise-in finale of 2010. This cruise-in will end at 9:00. We are arranging a reserved area for Fieros to park together at the cruise-in, and money permitting, we are looking into dash plaques or some kind of other token of appreciation for attendance. I usually participate in these with Fieros, and they run from April to October, first Saturday of every month, and there's always a great turnout. Lots of great music and good company. Cars from every era imaginable, plus motorcycles, antique tractors, just a great variety and a good time. We would really love to have you. If you are interested, please contact me at Fierochic@yahoo.com or Jennifer@midamericafieros.com.
We had this in August in prior years, but with the record high temperatures here this week, I am so glad we are moving it to October, and hopefully the weather will be very pleasant for those of us who don't have a good air conditioner!

Oh, I forgot to mention, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COST to join us; unfortunately, although I plan to supply a few drinks for everyone to enjoy along the way, this year we don't have the funds to supply lunch for everyone, but as always, we do not charge any kind of registration or participation fee. I do ask that if you plan on coming, you let me know in advance so I'll know how many gifts, goodie bags, and participation gifts to include - I'd like to know by September 25 if at all possible, but last minute additions are welcome. Please don't feel your car has to be show ready. This cruise is about keeping Fieros on the road and friendship, we are not in a competition with each other and this just makes for a more relaxed day. I did the competition thing for years, and looking back, I was in all these great cities and spent the majority of my time cleaning the car instead of having fun. We aren't going to pick at anyone for missing a spot or dust, etc.! Everyone is welcome. If you can't bring your Fiero you are welcome to come and follow along in whatever you happen to be driving that day, car, motorcycle, whatever!!

And less than a mile from my place. Maybe we can link up and I can help you get around if you need it.
I am excited! It looks like this is going to be a great turnout. I've gotten a few calls as well as online contacts, and now I have to get busy getting the car ready to go!
Thanks to all who have helped me spread the word about this event. I'd love to see it grow every year.

Just answering this - they have not charged any kind of fee for the Top Gun cruise ins before - admission is supposed to be free and open to everyone, but let me know where you found this and I will double check. They do have some car shows and those may have admission fees - they sponsor several events around the area. When I talked to them last month and made the arrangements, they never mentioned an entry fee at all.
I just verified the cruise in which will be our final event of the day is free. Link is http://topguncarshows.com/ - click on "Paducah Cruise-In" for details.
If you think you can make it please let me know because I will be buying some water and soft drinks to share with everyone.
I don't get on the forums as often as I'd like (and they won't let us on at all from work), so if you send me a private message and I don't reply right away, please e-mail or call me (contact info listed in prior posts).
One week to go! I can't wait. Pulled the "original" (burgundy coupe) out today and trying to figure out if I am brave enough to take it. Its had some odd problems off and on, and I've got some mysterious slave or master cylinder issues - or a problem in one of the hydraulic lines. If I don't take it I'll take my 86 1/2 GT - although it isn't quite as shiny.
It looks like the weather should be perfect unless they change the forecast.
Looks like I am not the only one who will be working on the cars till the last day! I am already losing sleep just looking forward to it.
Now, everyone has the option of meeting me at the truck stop at exit 16 off I-24, or meeting up at the Masonic Lodge at Aurora, which is closer for the Louisville, KY and Southern IN folks to where they are staying at the lake. I will be at the truck stop around 9, and we'll probably head out at 9:30 - it takes about 30 minutes to get to the first stop in Aurora!
Can't wait to meet everyone who will be new to the cruise, as well as our usual crowd!

Yes, we are still on! Drinks are bought, slave cylinder in and working (so far) and the countdown is on! Forecast is great! Can't wait to see everyone.
Wow - 14 Fieros plus one Fiero owner who joined us at the end in a Corvette. I am completely exhausted but it was great. I hope everyone had a great time. For those who couldn't make it, we plan on keeping the event in October, so most likely either first or second weekend of October - so keep it in mind!
Hopefully one of us will have some photos posted soon! Good night!!
My pictures didn't do the cars justice. I bet Jennifers will be lots better. Still 14 cars was a great event. It was fun listening to the snipets of conversation as we creep through the parade. My favorite..."I bet all my future income that you would trade the van for one of those!"

I was leading and heard "Ohhhh, those are all Dodge Vipers...." by some innocent little kid. Another thought we were Corvettes. I did overhear several "what the heck are those" and a few people answer correctly, and one guy said "I gotta get one of those!" I almost handed him a card and told him about the one we are in the process of painting!
We have to run out a while -- I got a few good shots, but one of the guys took some shots from the back of the line, and he's supposed to e-mail them to me so I can compile a CD of everyone's pictures and mail them out to everyone as a gift.
Jennifer, I'm very happy that you had a good showing and it seems everyone had a good time. Thanks for putting yourself out there and taking the lead and hosting such an event. Wish I could have made it but, the stars simply didn't align.
Ron

We made it safely back today. We had a great time and appreciated all of the work what went into planning this and making us feel welcome! 950 miles each way was worth it. Big thanks Jennifer and, of course, to 1MohrFiero for the EGR tube and all of you who made this such an enjoyable event.
I have added pictures of the event to my Facebook page - if anyone wants to see them my profile is under Jennifer Lindsey Green, and you'll be able to pick me out because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one with a Fiero as their profile picture! There are also pictures on there from the 2009 cruise as well.

It was great meeting you guys John and Lorie. You are welcome in Kentucky anytime and stay as long you like. I enjoyed looking at pictures of your cars and the Lotus 7 kit you have. Maybe you can make it back next year.
I always say meeting the people who drive them is the best part of this Fiero hobby and I enjoyed talking to every owner who joined Jennifer's great cruise. Thanks again, Jenn.
