"He [Trump] later added: "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order — respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!""
...
"Jason Bjorklund, who flew to the nation's capital from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, said he did not know what to expect when Congress convened.
"I just felt compelled to be here because it seems like our republic is slipping away from us," Bjorklund said. He added, baselessly, that there were "mountains of evidence of fraud" and detailed conspiracy theories about Dominion voting machines.
When asked to account for the judges who have rejected the Trump legal team's attempts to challenge the election results, Bjorklund said: "I think we've got corruption from the top to the bottom."

This is what I meant when I said in a past thread that it was irresponsible of the courts to not take on the case(s). Faith in the election system stands in the balance. You shouldn't ignore such a problem, to not directly refute claims, ignore a large majority of the citizens concerns. It is irresponsible.
Even on the quote (by NBC?) they add that the persons opinion is "baseless" and labeled his words "conspiracy theories" ..and would not even quote what he says. Why did they even ask him?
It's awful hard to "cancel culture" nearly 50% of the voter base.

Well, courts are required to act (or required not to) based on evidence presented. Unsupported Rhetoric, hyperbole filled twitter posts, blog rants etc usually aren't considered 'evidence' enough to proceed in a court of law. There is about 1/3 the nation, that regardless of evidence, will never accept any refutation of claims.
As is usually the case, we are being misled. The shooting that has been reported was the capitol police who shot a young female Trump supporter who would not get away from a window. Also, someone planted pipe bombs at the RNC headquarters. So, the "right" was shot and bombed. So I ask you, who committed the violence?

"Based upon evidence presented". I do not know of one claim that was taken up by a court.
Unsupported Rhetoric, hyperbole filled twitter posts, blog rants etc are not considered evidence. True enough. Yet many sworn affidavits, subject to perjury penalties were not heard.

“Maybe if all these idiots weren’t living off the government and had jobs, they wouldn’t have time to be protesting in the middle of the day. They’d be busy working!”
Fox and NBC call this group rioters, but the BLM and Antifa burning buildings, tearing down statues and beating people were just "mostly peaceful protestors".

There is a reason 'sworn' affidavits don't often carry much weight in courts. Some, if not many states view 'sworn' affidavits as hearsay and therfore isn't admissible as evidence. I do not know how many of the states view SAs as hearsay but do know there are some (a lot of) exceptions to the rule against hearsay in Texas.

If that was for me, YES im for Trump all the way...who along with me is all in FOR America. Im against liberal communists like Biden and Pelosi and that whole crowd. They all HATE America as it is and want the government to be all powerful over a socialist country. They have SAID they are going to change America...and that is the only truthful thing they have ever said.
Are you for Trump....Or are you for America? You can't claim both.
Never tell anyone that they can't do what they've already done. It's obvious that they can, since they have already done so. "You can't claim both." Many many do exactly that. 'America' means different things to different people and if you ask 100 Americans what the word means to them you are very likely to get close to 100 different answers. Some may even mirror what your own definition is but most will probably be different..from yours, mine and everyone else's here at OT.

The lack of concern in this short thread is disassociating. The Capitol building of one of the world's leading democracies and major world superpowers was breached by an armed militia refusing to accept the result of a free election in hopes of keeping the losing candidate in power leading to the evacuation of a sitting legislative body currently certifying the results of said election. Ignore your political thoughts for a second, I’m sure you have some right now.
If this happened in any other country, think of how you would respond. How the US would respond. Step back for a moment from your perspective as a party member and in the shoes of a historian... Something incredibly dangerous is happening right now for the preservation of our governing system, regardless of your personal affection for or repulsion by the specific leader of the executive branch and his political affiliation. This is the stuff we set up watch groups for in fragile nations. This isn't about which group gets to hold signs in a public park or march down a street or graffiti a wall. This is about a successful act of impeding the work of a bicameral bipartisan legislature to uphold a representative democracy.
That's the terribly fragile system at risk here (and in many places elsewhere around the globe). I don’t care about your politics, with all due respect. Not even going to bother entertaining a conversation in that regard. A woman died tonight. SUREY we can agree this is not about voices being unheard but about something we all believe in being violated and threatened.

The Capitol building got a little cleansing today. I feel better about it now that the citizens illustrated a point to the elite. The USA is still a zombie corpse but a little better off after today.
By making the elite, sellout ass-hats cower and run away. They've been selling us out to globalists, foreign nations, criminals, using cocaine and performing degenerate acts in the Capitol building.

The woman being killed is a tragedy and sad on it's own merits.
Different people tho, believe 'in' different things and different people believe in different ways to accomplish those things.
I do not know how the people that were/are engaged in today's Washington DC activites feel or think but I suspect, that many may look at it the same way protestors at Boston harbor did. A physical wakeup demonstration of disagreement with how things currently are (or at least how they perceive them to be).
This not nearly the first time a protest turned to tragedy in the nation's capitol.

Y’all stormed the Capitol, forced an evacuation of lawmakers, killed a bystander - and to ****ING top it all off, what happened when y’all got in there? What was the plan? Where was the overthrow?
You got in there and took pictures on desks and read documents. You had no plan going in there and it showed once you arrived.
If this happened in any other country, think of how you would respond. How the US would respond.
Exactly. If this scenario was taking place in Russia right now, the same people in this forum who are refusing to accept the US election results would be the ones mocking the Russians (or the Venezuelans or whomever).
America's allies are watching the actions unfolding in the US in disbelief. America's enemies are laughing.

And it came at a grave cost
No, I was at the junkyard all afternoon.
You don't have to be ashamed you played no part in taking back your Capitol building. The dead woman had the stones to do it for both of us.

Or if the parties in power were reversed, they would be singing a different tune.. If Obama or Biden or any other democrat was president, and they incited their supporters like Trump did today, they would be calling them terrorists and traitors..

Obama was the master at inciting Blacks to riot, to the point of murdering Whites in Dallas at a BLM rally while screaming I hate White people.

I’m not surprised you believe I’m referring to your personal time. You piped up & agreed with what happened here. If you believe trying to deflect like this is clever it’s not.
I’m not ashamed at all for not being involved with this. I wouldn’t touch this **** with a ten foot pole like you embrace it.

But that’s not what happened, is it?
Keep yourself occupied with whatever you need to sleep well at night. History will look poorly upon this event & those who support it.

This is a gross mental gymnastic you’re performing here and it is depressingly common in this forum.

Patriots (and possibly a few disguised Antifa to cause trouble) made a statement today to the people who refuse to listen to the majority of Americans for the past 30+ years and your response is to tell them to get back under their desk and wait for the boom, because muh Capitol.
